Los Angeles City Attorney’s criminal prosecutor: Alin CemCem-Sahagian (OIA)

Alin CemCem-Sahagian is a criminal prosecutor, working for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office for the past seven years.  Alin started her career as a prosecutor at Central Trials, prosecuting cases including: Domestic Violence, Prostitution, Loitering for Prostitution, Possession of Methamphetamine, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Battery, and Vandalism.  Alin is currently a vertical gang prosecutor for South Los Angeles and also prosecutes cases involving the Central City Recovery Zone.  In addition to prosecuting gang, gun, and graffiti cases within the Safe Neighborhoods and Gang Division, Alin also teaches the Los Angeles Police Department’s Gang School in the areas of criminal law and procedure.  Before working for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, Criminal Branch, Alin worked at the City Attorney’s Office, Los Angeles World Airports; externed at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office; and served as a judicial law clerk in the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.  Before entering the realm of criminal prosecution, Alin also worked at the firm of Geragos & Geragos.

 

Alin obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Juris Doctorate degree from Pepperdine Law School, where she also obtained a certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Strauss Institute of Dispute Resolutions.  Recently, Alin also became a member of the faculty at the University of Phoenix, where she teaches courses including Criminal Law, Criminal Law & Procedure, and Ethics, within the College of Criminal Justice and Security.
