Ari Demiral received Ph.D. degree in Taxation


            OIA congratulates Ari Demiral, a long-time member who has served in Mekhetarian Alumni, Cultural and Audit Commitees, for receiving his Ph.D. degree in Taxation.


              Ari was born in Istanbul, Turkey on December 18, 1966. He attended Mekhitarian Armenian School until he moved to Los Angeles in 1983. He graduated from Ferrahian High School in 1984. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University of Northridge in Business Administration with Accounting Option in 1990. After working for a national CPA firm for several years, Ari opened his private accounting and consulting firm in 1991. Ari received a Master of Science degree (with honors) in 2006 and Ph.D. degree (with honors) in Taxation from Washington School of Law in 2010. He has authored several books in taxation.


            Ari is a long-time member of OIA, who has served in Mekhetarian Alumni and Cultural Committees and is currently a member of the Audit Committee. He is also a deacon for the Western Diocese, responsible for spiritual music book publication and the second director of the Khatchadourian Choir.


            Ari married Christine Balciyan (OIA Cultural Committee Treasurer) in 1999 and they have a daughter Natalie (future OIA member) who was born on December 25, 2007. They live in Northridge, California since 1999.
