[ACWD] Primate’s Easter Message: A Life with God

The History of humanity and the world has not yet registered a magnanimous event which equals to the glorious Resurrection of Christ our Lord. The Resurrection of our Lord reflects the divine strength. Christ our Lord resurrected from the dead and graced us with the message of everlasting life. As Christians we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, for therein we find the mystery of the New Life. The entire journey of Lent cultivates within us the presence of God, so that led by Him we may reject our old selves and put on the New Life in Christ.

The Celebration of the Resurrection of Christ our Lord compels us to enlighten our God-given life with the presence of Christ in our being throughout the day. The celebration of the Resurrection of Christ our Lord becomes a true feast when we are able to inspire the people to have faith in God.

The celebration of the Resurrection graces us with New Life. In other words, we celebrate the Resurrection to fully grasp the depth of the words of St. Paul: “To me Christ is life.”

The celebration of the Resurrection of Christ our Lord fills us with the deeper respect for the legacy of our forefathers, namely the Church, which ought to continue to administer the Word of God as the spiritual bread for the soul of the faithful.

The celebration of the Resurrection of Christ our Lord helps the faithful children of the Armenian Apostolic Church to search for eternal life. For the faithful children of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ our Lord offers the vision to embrace the Gospel of the Lord with its messages of salvation, which enlighten our mind and soul with divine love; with the spirit of forgiveness; with a sense of virtuous deeds.

Finally, the Resurrection of Christ our Lord is the peak moment in our spirituality when God enters into the depth of our hearts and elevates us to a new level of life – a life with God.

On the blessed occasion of the Resurrection of Christ our Lord we extend our best wishes to the zealous faithful of our Church, the dedicated members of the Diocesan Council, Parish Councils and all Diocesan organizations:

May the glorious Resurrection – the luminous faith – lead the lives of our faithful towards God, towards the Good and the Eternal.

On the blessed occasion of Easter, we also would like to extend the good wishes of the pastors and the faithful of the Western Diocese to our beloved Vehapar, His Holiness Karekin II the Catholicos of All Armenians. May the Good Lord bless him and strengthen him with the power of the Holy Spirit, so that he may continue to serve and lead his flock with the faith of our forefathers.

“Christ is risen from the dead, Blessed is the Resurrection of Christ.”

Prayerfully

Archbishop Hovnan Derderian
