REMEMBERING

HIS BEATITUDE PATRIARCH SHNORK KALOUSTIAN

25-TH YEAR OF HIS PASSING

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2015

The Western Diocese will honor the memory of the late Patriarch Shnork Kaloustian of Constantinople on the 25th year of his passing in 1990. His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, will preside over the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at St. Leon’s Cathedral on Sunday, November 15, 2015, followed by a Requiem Service in memory of the Venerable Patriarch.

The same afternoon a commemorative program will follow with the presentation two of his newly published books by the Western Diocese by the Rev. Dr. Zaven Arzoumanian, who recently edited and translated into English the Patriarch’s “The Golden Chain of Great Lenten Sundays,” and from the Book of Revelation “Seven Messages to Seven Churches” books, originally published in Istanbul in 1971 and 1977. Father Arzoumanian has included both the Armenian and the English versions in each volume, 160 pages each.

Beside the presentation of the new books, proper program will be offered with tributes to the Venerable Patriarch Shnork Kaloustian, musical renditions, and reading passages from the books. The event will take place in Kalayjian Hall of the Western Diocese in Burbank. All are cordially invited to the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by the Khachadourian Choir of the Diocese. Copies of the books will be available.
