Abstract: The lecture will describe the major events of the first eight years of the 21st century and the genesis of the global financial crisis; it will also evaluate the current major global risks, trends and collusions. For solutions, it will demonstrate the inadequacy of the available traditional resources; it will discuss the dead ideas with complacent “conventional wisdoms”. In addition, it will evaluate the proposed action plans, both domestic (US), global and multinational; it will discuss the impact of the global financial crisis on the Near East, including Armenia. Finally, it will address the question of “how is Armenia navigating in this global “waters” and what actions Armenia should consider in her foreign affairs in general and the economy in particular?”
