| A new world order is in the making and history dictates that those nations, who do not rise to the challenge, will be sidelined from the world stage. The spread of Christianity in the 4th century led to the establishment of a new world order. The Armenian nation rose to the challenge, thanks to Gregory the Illuminator and specially Mesrob Mashtots. The invention of the Armenian alphabet reshaped our national identity and contributed to the creation of our Golden Age. The invention of printing and the Renaissance in the 15th century and onward, reshaped the world once again. The Armenian nation was able to keep pace, thanks to Mekhitar of Sebastia. His movement became the catalyst for the reawakening and rediscovering of the Armenian Identity. For the past several decades, the internet has been revolutionizing our lives and changing the world. Globalization is threatening the sovereignty of small nations. Can the Armenian nation rise to the challenge once again? What role will our past play in shaping our future? | |||

Լեւոն Զէքիեան Ծնած է Պոլիս: Աստուածաբանութեան եւ Իմաստասիրութեան Մագիստրոսի տիտղոսը ստացած է Վենետիկի Գրիգորեան համալսարանէն, իսկ փիլիսոփայութեան դոկտորի կոչումը՝ Ստամպուլի պետական համալսարանէն:Պաշտօնավարած է Պոլսոյ Մխիթարեան , Կեդրոնական եւ Անարատ Յղութեան վարժարաններուն մէջ, ինչպէս նաեւ Վենետիկի Ս.  Dr. Abraham Terian is Professor Emeritus of Armenian Theology and Patristics at St. Nersess Armenian Seminary, New Rochelle, New York. Prior to his appointment at St. Nersess, he was Professor of Intertestamental and Early Christian Literatures at Andrews University for twenty years, and for four years a recurring Visiting Professor for Classical Armenian and Hellenistic Judaism at the University of Chicago. While there, he served as president of the Midwest Region of the Society of Biblical Literature (1983–85). He is an internationally renowned expert in the fields of Hellenistic, early Christian and Armenian theological literature, fields in which he has published extensively. As a Fulbright Scholar, in 2005 he became the first recipient of the “Fulbright Distinguished Chair in the Humanities” award by the Fulbright Foundation and the US–Israel Educational Foundation. In 2008 he was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. |

Սրբուհի Հայրապետեան Ծնուել է Երեւան: Իր բարձրագոյն գրականագիտական կրթութիւնը ստացել է Հայաստանի Գիտութիւնների Ակադեմիայի Մանուկ Աբեղեանի անուան գրականութեան ինստիտուտի ասպիրանտուրայում եւ 1968ին ստացել դոկտորական աստիճան: 1968-1977 աշխատել է Հայաստանի Գիտութիւնների Ակադեմիայի Գրականութեան Ինստիտուտում: 1978էն սկսած դասաւանդել է UCLAի Հայագիտական Ամբիոնում, ինչպէս նաեւ Ամերիկահայ Միջազգային Գոլեճում: 1989-1983 ընդգրկւում է Հիւսիսային Ամերիկայի Արեւմտեան Թեմի Ուսումնական Խորհրդում եւ գրում հայոց լեզուի ու քերականութեան դասագրքեր: 1993-1996 աշխատում է Մոնթերեյի Միջազգային յարաբերութիւնների ինստիտուտում՝ մշակելով արեւելահայ լեզուի տեսա-լսողական աւսումնական ընդարձակ դասընթացք, օտար, ինչպէս եւ հայ ուսանողների համար: Հրատարակած գործերն են.  Dr. Yervant Zorian is a Fellow and Chief Architect of Synopsys Corp, Mountain View, California. Previously was the Vice President and Chief Scientist of Virage Logic, and a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories. He has authored more than 300 scientific papers, four books, holds over 33 US patents, and received numerous best scientific paper awards. A Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, he was selected by Electronic Engineering Times among the top 13 influencers on the semiconductor industry in the past fifty years. Dr. Zorian was the 2005 recipient of the prestigious Industrial Pioneer Award, and the 2006 recipient of the IEEE Hans Karlsson Award for Diplomacy. He served as the General Chair of the 50th Design Automation Conference, held in June 2013, in Austin, TX.He is a member of the AGBU Board of Directors and the founder and president of the Armenian Virtual College. He serves as the chair of AGBU Silicon Valley Chapter, and is a trustee of the American University of Armenia. He is a Diasporan member of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. |

Յակոբ Կիւլլիւճեան Հայագիտութեան դասախօս է UCLA-ի Մերձաւոր Արեւելեան Լեզուներու եւ Մշակոյթներու բաժանմունքին մէջ, եւ եղած է հայագիտական ուսմանց հիմնադիր ու դասախօս Պուէնոս Այրէսի Յիսուսեան համալսարանի Արեւելագիտութեան դպրոցէն ներս։ Բացի վարչական գիտութիւններու՝ տնտեսագիտութեան Մագիստրոսի տիտղոսէն, Դոկտորական ստացած է գրականութեան ճիւղի մէջ, Նարեկացիի մասին «Զոհաբերում եւ խօսք» լայնածաւալ աշխատութեամբ։Յօդուածներով եւ ուսումնասիրութիւններով աշխատակցած է գիտական շարք մը պարբերականներու եւ մասնագիտական հատորներու։ Հրատարակիչ եւ/կամ խմբագիրը եղած է աւելի քան տասնեակ մը պարբերականներու։ Արհեստագիտական քաղաքականութեան եւ համացանցային ծրագիրներու մասին խորհրդատուութիւն կատարած է Արժանթինի կառավարութեան եւ սեփական ընկերութիւններու։ Այդ երկրի նախագահութեան հրաւէրով հիմնադիր անդամներէն է երկրի INTERNET-2 զուգահեռ ցանցը հաստատող եւ տնօրինող ընկերակցութեան։ Ներկայի իր հետազօտութիւնը կ՚ընդգրկէ գլխաւորաբար միջնադարեան հայ բանաստեղծութիւնը, կարողականութեան (virtuality) եւ մշակոյթի ու սփիւռքներու փոխազդեցութիւնը, եւ արդիական ու յետարդիական գրականութիւնը սփիւռքի մէջ։ |

 ROBERT H. HEWSEN Born in New York City, Robert H. Hewsen received his doctorate from Georgetown University where he studied Armenian and Caucasian history under the late pioneer Armenist Cyril Toumanoff. From 1967 to 1999, he taught Russian and Byzantine History at Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey, where he is now Professor Emeritus. In addition, he has taught Armenian history at the Universities of Michigan (1979), Pennsylvania (1980-1983), Tübingen, Germany (1984, 1987), Chicago (1991, 1998, 2008), Columbia (1993, 1999), St. Nersess Seminary (2001), California State University, Fresno (2001), UCLA (2002), and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2004). He has lectured at Harvard, Princeton, Berkeley, Dumbarton Oaks, the Pierpont Morgan Library (NYC), and at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. He participates regularly in the annual Middle East Studies Association conferences. Besides numerous articles and book reviews , Dr. Hewsen has published an English translation of the 7th-century Armenian Geography (Ashkharatsouyts), (1992) and supervised the reprinting of the original Armenian texts of both versions of the same work (1994). He has also contributed eight large-scale maps of Caucasia to the Tübingen Atlas of the Middle East, and in 2001 published a 341-page, 278-map Historical Atlas of Armenia (Univ. of Chicago, 2001). Professor Hewsen has visited Armenia nine times since 1961 and Nagorno Karabagh twice. |
