Under the Patronage of Vice President of AGBU Central Board of Trustees Mr. SINAN SINANIAN The Boards of Trustees of AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian & AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian Schools Are honored to host Dr. Yervant Zorian Member of AGBU Central Board To present AGBU’s newly launched and highly anticipated ARMENIAN VIRTUAL COLLEGE Friday, February 11, 2011, 8:00 PM Agajanian Auditorium 6844 Oakdale Ave. Canoga Park, CA The Armenian Virtual College is an Internet-based accredited distance learning program that aims to facilitate Armenian studies through new technologies. With the latest advances in the world of electronic education, the Armenian Virtual College has created a virtual learning community that can foster both the cultural education and social connections otherwise out of the reach of most students across the Diaspora. Additional information about the project is available at http://www.avc-agbu.org Speaker Profile: Dr. Yervant Zorian, a Member of AGBU Central Board, is the Chief Architect at Synopsys Inc., a semiconductor technology firm headquartered in Silicon Valley, California. He previously served as Vice President and Chief Scientist at Virage Logic, was a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Chief Technical Advisor to LogicVision. A fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), he currently serves as the President of its Council on Test Technology and as the Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of the Journal on Design and Test of Computers. He has authored more than 300 scientific papers, four books and holds 24 US patents. A lifelong AGBU volunteer, he currently chairs the AGBU Silicon Valley Chapter, is the founder and chairman of the AGBU Armenian Virtual College, and a Trustee of the American University of Armenia. Dr. Zorian holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, and an MBA from Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
