Սթեֆանին՝ դուստրն է Տէր եւ Տիկին Կարօ եւ Անիթա Մութաֆեանի, ծնած է Յունիս 2,1995ին: Ան ունի աւագ եղբայր մը՝ Էնտրիւն, որ քաջալերած է զինք Ջրագնդակ խաղալու:Սթեֆանին՝ արդէն կը խաղայ մրցակցային Ջրագնդակ՝ ութ տարեկանէն  ի վեր: Ջրագնդակի խաղը իր կրքերէն մէկն է, եւ ան կ՛երազէ մասնակցիլ Միացեալ Նահանգներու ՈղիմպիականԱզգային Ջրագնդակի խումբին:

Սթեֆանին՝ աւարտած է LOS ALAMITOS Բարձրագոյն վարժարանը 2013 թուին, եւիր ասպարէզի ընթացքին Los Alamitosի մէջ ան խաղացած է Varsity խումբին մէջ: Անայնքան հմուտ էր լողաւազանին մէջ, որ ան խաղացած էր Varsity խումբին մէջ չորս տարի եւկոչուած՝ Խումբին Պետը: Սթեֆանին՝ հիմա ուսանող մարզիկ է եւ ընդունուած էԳալիֆորնիայի Berkeley Համալսարանը, ներկայիս իր երկրորդական տարին էմասնագիտանալու Միջճիւղային Ուսումնասիրութիւններուն մէջ, որ թոյլ կուտայ իրենունենալու եւ ուսանելու կեդրոնացման երեք ոլորտներ: Իր Ջրագնդակի ասպարէզը կը շարունակուի Berkeleyի մէջ, քանի որ ան անբաժանելի մասն է Գալիֆորնիայի ԿանանցՋրագնդակի Խումբին: Իր առաջին երկու տարիներուն ընթացքին սոյն խումբին հետ,Գալիֆորնիայի Կանանց Ջրագնդակի Խումբը յաջորդաբար տեղադրուած է չորրորդը NCAAԱխոյեանութեան մէջ:

2009-2012էն սկսեալ, Սթեֆանի Հարաւային Խաղաղ Ովկիանոսեան Գօտիի ԿարմիրԽումբէն մաս մըն էր, որուն ընթացքին, խումբը շահեցաւ առաջին տեղը, ՄիացեալՆահանգներու Ջրագնդակի Տարածաշրջանային Մրցաշարքին: 2012 տարուան ընթացքին, անմաս կազմած էր Ազգային Երիտասարդական Խումբին, որ մեկնեցաւ Հունգարիա, տուն բերելով պրոնզեայ մետալը: Ան անգամ մը եւս ընտրուեցաւ Ազգային ԵրիտասարդականԽումբին համար, որ այս անգամ ճանապարհորդելով Auckland, Նոր Զելանտա ՀարաւայինԽաչ Կանանց Բաժակի համար, բերելով տուն արծաթեայ մետալը: Բացի անկէ, Ազգային Երիտասարդական Խումբէն, ան մրցակցած է Առաջին  Միջազգային ԴաշնակցութեանԼողումին (FINA) Աշխարհի Երիտասարդական Ախոյեանութեան Perth, Աւստրալիոյ մէջ:Ազգային Երիտասարդական Խումբը տեղադրուեցաւ տասնվեց խումբերէն չորրորդը: Այս մրցաշարքին ընթացքին, Սթեֆանի երկրորդ ռմբարկուն էր տասնմէկ նպատակակէտերով:Այնուհետեւ Յուլիս 2015ին, Սթեֆանի մրցեցաւ եւ ընտրուեցաւ

Միացեալ Նահանգներու Պատանեկան Խումբին համար, որուն գործունէութեան ասպարէզը խումբ մըն է բաղկացածազգին լաւագոյն ինը խաղացողներէն: Կրտսեր Ազգային Խումբը մրցեցաւ FINA աշխարհի Պատանեկան Ախոյեանութիւններուն  հետ որ կայացաւ Յունաստանի Volos քաղաքին մէջ:Միացեալ Նահանգներու Կրտսեր Ազգային Խումբը շահեցաւ ոսկեայ մետալը, աշխարհիլաւագոյն տասնվեց խումբերուն դէմ, որուն մէջ յաղթեցին Սպանիոյ, մէկ անգամ խմբայինխաղով, ինչպէս նաեւ եզրափակիչ խաղով:

Լոս Alamitos Բարձրագոյն Վարժարանի Ջրագնդակի գլխավոր մարզիչ՝ Տէյվ Քարլսոն,հարցազրոյցի մը ընթացքին նկարագրած է Սթեֆանին ըսելով՝ «Սթեֆանին երբեք չ՛ամչնարլուսարձակներէն եւ ճնշիչ իրավիճակներէն. ան ըստ էութեան, ընդգրկած է զանոնք: Ան միշտկ՛ուզէ մարտահրաւէր մը եւ կ՛ուզէ նաեւ համապատասխանիլ հակառակ խումբին լաւագոյնխաղացողին հետ: Ես կը հաւատամ, որ այս իր լաւագոյն յատկանիշն է, միանպատակ խաղի մէջ զոր ան կ՛ուզէ ըլլալ այն խաղացողը, որ կ՛որոշէ խաղին ճակատագիրը:

Stephanie, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Garo & Anita Mutafyan, was born on June 2nd, 1995. She has an older brother Andrew who encouraged her to play water polo. Stephanie has been playing competitive water polo since the age of eight. Water polo is one of her passions and she dreams to play on the United States Olympic National Water Polo Team.

Stephanie graduated from Los Alamitos High School in 2013 and during her career at Los Alamitos she played on the Varsity team. She was so skillful in the pool that she played on the Varsity team for four years and named as Team Captain during her senior year. Stephanie is now a student athlete enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, currently in her junior year, majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies, which allows her to have three fields of focus to study. Her water polo career continues at Berkeley, as she is an integral part of the Cal Women’s Water Polo Team. During her first two years with the team, the Cal Women’s Water Polo Team consecutively placed fourth in the NCAA Championship.

From 2009-2012, Stephanie was part of the Southern Pacific Zone Red Team, during which the team won First Place in the United States Water Polo Regional Tournament. In the year 2012, she was part of the Youth National Team, which traveled to Hungary, bringing home the Bronze Medal. She was selected once again for the Youth National Team, this time traveling to Auckland, New Zealand for the Southern Cross Women’s Cup, bringing home the Silver Medal. In addition, with the Youth National Team, she competed in the First Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) Youth World Championship in Perth, Australia. The Youth National Team placed fourth out of sixteen teams. During this tournament Stephanie was the second highest scorer with eleven goals. Then in July 2015, Stephanie competed and was selected for the United States Junior National Team, which fields a team comprised of the top nine players in the nation. The Junior National Team competed in the FINA Junior World Championships, which was held in Volos, Greece. The United States Junior National Team won the Gold Medal against a field of the world’s best sixteen teams, in which they beat Spain, once in-group play as well as in the final.

Dave Carlson, the Los Alamitos High School water polo coach, described Stephanie in an interview saying, “Stephanie never shies away from the spotlight and pressure situations; she in fact embraced them. She always wants a challenge and wants to be matched up against the opposing team’s best player. I believe this to be her best attribute, in a one-goal game she wants to be the player who decides the destiny of the game.
