MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE OIA BOARD OF TRUSTEES

As we embark on a new term for the OIA Board of Trustees , it is with renewed rigor that we as the Trustees of the overall mission of this great organization  commit ourselves to its noble aims. Ensuring long term financial stability and fiscal  strength will remain the top of our agenda; as we continue to promote our culture, support deserving students via scholarships and educate our community .

Another equally important task and duty of the Board of Trustees is to be a prudent steward of numerous trust funds that have been set up by valued and generous families who believe in OIA’s mission.  As fiduciaries of the scholarship, building, sports and library trust funds , we will ensure that they continue to serve the purpose for which they have been set up and maintain valuable communications with family members who formed these trusts.

While I thank my colleagues on the Board for the confidence they have shown by reelecting me as Chairman for another term; I welcome Dr. Arto Ersan Hatcherian, Parunak Celikian and Garo Kurian as newly elected members to the Board of Trustees. The cumulative years of experience of valuable service to our community they possess; will further enrich the Board as it faces the tough challenges that lie ahead.  We have full faith and confidence that the newly elected Executive Board under the capable leadership of Kurken Berksanlar, as President will expand the reach of our organization within all segments of our community and provide us with exciting and enriching  new cultural programs as well as social events .

OIA is to remain a strong custodian of the rich heritage and culture of  the Armenian Nation.  As the Body with ultimate responsibility for the accomplishment of our mission, we pledge to do our best to deserve the faith and expectations of our membership and the larger community whom we intend to serve.
