[ARMENIAN SPORTS] Greg Magarian and Nareg Guregian in the US Olympic Rowing Junior National Team

US Rowing, the governing body of the United States Olympic Rowing team, has announced the selection of two Armenian-American rowers to its Junior National Team, Nareg Guregian of Los Angeles, Calif., and Greg Magarian of Cincinnati, Ohio. They will be leaving later this week with the United States Team to attend the FISA Junior World Championships in Beijing, China.
Greg Magarian, a 6’2″, rower was born in 1990 in Washington, D.C He won the bronze medal in the quad at the 2007 US Rowing Youth National Championships and considers it memorable achievement. He is coached by Brent Figg. He is in the Junior Men’s Quadruple Sculls (JM4x)
Nareg Guregian was born in 1989, and is 6’5″ tall and weighs 210 lbs. The Armenian speaking Nareg was born in Los Angeles, he currently lives in North Hills, Calif., and is a graduate from the AGBU Manoogian-Demirjian High School. He is currently attending UC Berkeley. He has won IRAs and Henley. He is in the Junior Men’s Eight (JM8+) He is also a basketballer.
